United Nations Every Woman Every Child China Partnership Network Life Regenerative Action in Philippines

On November 21, 2019, the launching ceremony and press conference of the United Nations Every Woman Every Child China Partner Network Life Regeneration Action Philippines Program was launched in the Manila,Philippines.

 

This program was initiated by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC) and the United Nations Every Woman Every Child China Partner Network (EWECCPN), and organized by the EWECCPN member unit MEBO International. The launching ceremony in the morning was opened in the majestic national anthems of the China and Philippines. More than 120 people from government agencies, non-profit organizations, enterprises, hospitals, and media from China and the Philippines attended the launching ceremony. 

Ji Yongjun, Deputy Director of the Department of American & Oceanian Affairs of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Xie Yonghui, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, Dr. Maria Francia Miciano-Laxamana, Assistant Minister of Health of the Philippines, Zheng Qiming, President of AMIC International Medical Co., Ltd. Kevin Peng Xu, President of ISRMWR, Li Li, President of MEBO International, Liu Gang, vice President of MEBO International and well-known experts from local hospitals in the Philippines attended the launching ceremony. It also attracted extensive attention and reports from local media such as Xinhua News Agency, China News Agency, Guangming Daily, Central People’s Broadcasting Station International Station, Philippine China Television Station, ABSCBN Television Station, etc.

First, Zheng Qiming, President of AMIC International Medical Co., Ltd., gave a welcome speech. He expressed his appreciation and thanks to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries for introducing this program into the Philippines. With the joint efforts of China and the Philippines, this cause will go further.


Ji Yongjun, Deputy Director of the Department of American & Oceanian Affairs of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC), thanked the guests who participated in this program. He said that CPAFFC has always supported this UN action plan which committed to helping more women and children out of their predicament, and hope that this event will promote change and development in the local medical field. 

Dr. Maria Francia Miciano-Laxamana, Assistant Minister of Health of the Philippines believes that women, children and adolescents are closely related to the problem of burns. In the Philippines, the health status of these groups is relatively backward compared to other countries, and the Philippine-Chinese government has always cooperated through efforts to achieve social commitment and development goals, this program is a model of cooperation between the two countries.

Xie Yonghui, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines said that China-Philippine friendship has a long history and can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty in ancient China. China now is currently one of the four major investors in the Philippines. China’s assistance to the Philippines’ medical care has continued in recent years. In the future, the two countries should go side by side and continue to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation.

Dr. Gerald Sy, Vice President of the Philippine Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association, introduced some achievements and the association’s efforts in assisting vulnerable groups of women and children in recent years.

Kevin Peng Xu made a brief review of this program launched from 2016 and stated that in the past three years, we have visited many countries and met many people, and everyone, regardless of religion or race, has one thing in common: everyone cares about the cause of women and children and will fight for a common vision and goal.

The Philippines is the fifth country in which Life Regeneration Action has entered after Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, and Lebanon. This program will continue to promote the development of regenerative medical technology in the Philippines, strive to benefit the peoples of the two countries, and further promote the civil exchange.
