On October 17th, 2024, ISRMWR, in collaboration with the International Society of Regenerative Medicine and Wound Repair, successfully hosted the “International Regenerative Medicine and Wound Care Symposium – Latin American Forum” in Lima, Peru. This phenomenal event attracted over 150 medical professionals from both public and private healthcare institutions across Lima.
Kevin Xu, CEO of MEBO Group and Co-Chair of APEC 2023 Host Committee, has always emphasized the importance of global cooperation in medical technology. His vision of sharing innovative healthcare solutions across APEC member nations was brought to life during the forum.
In the opening speech, Dr. Ariel Miranda, Secretary of the International Society for Burn Injuries, spoke highly of the significant value that MEBO International brings to the medical industry. More importantly, he stressed MEBO International has undertaken greater responsibilities in international affairs. Jose Young, General Manager of Discontinental, highlighted MEBO International’s technological contributions to the field of wound care.
Next comes academic sharing. In the first part, Dr. Carlos Marquez from Ecuador discussed using regenerative medical technology to treat pressure ulcers. Dr. Victor Coahila from Peru, updated on diabetic foot ulcer treatment, and called for more attention to early intervention and customized treatment plans.
In the second part of academic sharing, under the theme “APEC dialogue – Focus on pediatric wound management”, Xu Weiwei, Executive Director of of International Society of Regenerative Medicine and Wound Repair, shared insights on global pediatric wound management scenario and expressed the hope that this event could become the start of more in-depth cooperations among medical professionals from APEC member nations. Dr. Ariel Miranda shared his experience on pediatric burn treatment, and how he utilized regenerative medical technology to benefit pediatric patients in Mexico.
The event reinforced MEBO International’s commitment to healthcare development within the APEC region, while providing new opportunities for international medical collaboration.
