On February 29, 2024, the 7th Regenerative Medicine Forum was held by International Society of Regenerative Medicine and Wound Repair (ISRMWR) in Los Angeles. Established to commemorate Professor Rongxiang Xu for his exceptional contributions to regenerative medicine, this annual forum is becoming increasingly influential as it not only reflects the truly valuable heritage granted by Professor Rongxiang Xu, but also provides an outlook to the future development of regenerative medicine.
Kevin Xu, President of ISRMWR, and Co-Chair of APEC 2023 Host Committee, expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported the development of regenerative medicine. Without the close collaboration over the past 7 years, the current progress wouldn’t be possible. Remarkably, the forum has come to its maturity as a platform where experts from different areas join hands to make progress on legislation, administration, academic research and industrial cooperation in the field of regenerative medicine.
For keynote speech, Dr. Bruno Péault, Chair of Vascular Regeneration of Deanery of Clinical Sciences in the University of Edinburgh, went in depth to discuss the application of regenerative medicine in stem cell therapy.
Next, the update on Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services was more than encouraging. Dr. Ron Vogel, the headmaster, delivered an enlightening message on the history, campus construction and influence of Rongxiang Xu College.
Dr. Winn Hong, former Vice President of the Alfred E. Mann Institute of the University of Southern California and President of Mesencyte, INC, focused on the technological advances of biomedical engineering in regenerative medicine with evidences from bioimaging. He was adamant that emerging devices and software will provide ever stronger support for the development of regenerative medicine.
Last but not the least, Su Wang Xiulan, Former Walnut City Mayor, presented the certificate of honor to Kevin Xu and Li Li, Chairperson of National Rongxiang Xu Foundation, on behalf of California Senator Bob J. Archuleta, and wished greater achievement for ISRMWR. Additionally, Allen Wu, Walnut City Councilor, delivered a certificate to the National Rongxiang Xu Foundation for the recognition of its contributions, celebrating the success of the 2024 Regenerative Medicine Forum.
