Indonesian Delegation Visits Xi'an for Academic Exchange on Regenerative Medical Technology and Wound Repair

From August 4 to 5, 2026, The International Society of Regenerative Medicine and Wound Repair (ISRMWR) hosted five Indonesian doctors comprising general surgeons and plastic surgeons from Jakarta, Central Java, and South Kalimantan for a two‑day academic exchange in Xi'an, China.
On August 4, the delegation arrived at Xi'an Ninth Hospital. Department Director Xiao Hou’an and Zhou Xiaoqian of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Department welcomed the delegation and shared the hospital's self-developed clinical protocol combining autologous micro-skin grafting technology with regenerative medical technology. Deputy Director Jiang Liyuan and Dr. Liu Hanlin presented the application of autologous micro-skin grafting combined with regenerative medical technology in wound management. Dr. Franky Mainza Zulkarnain from Pondok Indah Hospital shared his experience with the application of this technology following laser closure of fistulas. Upon conclusion of the exchange, the delegation proceeded to the ward to observe the standardized wound care protocol.
On the morning of August 5, Director Zhou Xiaoqian presented the advantages of regenerative medical technology in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. The delegation then visited the 24-hour Wound Repair Center, the Animal Injury Clinic, and the Medical Aesthetic Center, gaining insight into the diagnostic and therapeutic systems and treatment workflows of each specialty.
On the afternoon of August 5, the delegation visited Xi'an Gaoxin Hospital for further exchanges. Deputy Director of the hospital, Yang Kun and Director of the Plastic Surgery Branch Hospital, Jiang Wei extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Dr. Wang Qi shared the clinical application of post-traumatic aesthetic suturing, as well as the use of this approach with super-tension-relief suturing to reduce pain and minimize post-healing scar formation. Dr. Indro Wibowo Sejati from Sipramitra Hospital in Banjarmasin shared his experience in the combined application of regenerative medical technology and stem cell secretions in the repair of various acute wounds. The delegation then visited the plastic surgery ward to observe the complete surgical procedure of super-tension-relief suturing for facial wounds.
This two-day cross-border academic exchange program concluded successfully. Through these exchanges, both parties deepened their understanding and knowledge of regenerative medical technology integrated with multiple treatment approaches. The delegation expressed their commitment to applying what they had learned in China to their clinical practice in Indonesia, actively promoting the development in wound care.
