AbstractObjective: To explore the effect of MEBO on the healing of diabetic ulcer wound at the lower extremities. Method: Total 60 cases of patients with diabetic ulcer collected from November of 2004 to June of 2007 were randomly divided into two groups, i.e. MEBO group with MEBO application and control group with routine dressing treatment respectively. The obtained results of the two groups were compared to see if any difference and full scale observation was made throughout the clinical treatment. Results: All the 30 cases of ulcer wounds of MEBO group were cured with a significant difference compared with control group. In addition, the regenerating and repairing process of the wound as well as its regularity were observed. Conclusion: MEBO can promote the healing of the diabetic ulcer wound at the lower extremities and its pharmacological effect is resulted from MEBO combined other treatments.
