United Nations Every Woman Every Child China Partnership Network Life Regenerative Action in Lebanon

Following the launch of the United Nations “Every Woman Every Child Life Regeneration” in Egypt On December 11, 2018, the United Nations “Every Woman Every Child Life Regeneration” in Lebanon, hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and EWECCPN and initiated by member unit of EWECCPN-- MEBO International, was officially launched in the Lebanese capital Beirut on December 14, 2018.

More than 100 doctors from public and private hospitals in Lebanon attended the launching ceremony. Ms. Tan Yan, Director of the Political Department of the Chinese Embassy in Lebanon, attended the event on behalf of the Embassy. At the launching ceremony, Ji Yongjun, deputy director general of Department of American & Oceanian Affairs of CPAFFC, Dr. Nassim, general manager of the Lebanese company of Julphar, and Ms. Mervat Musallam, director of the Julphar MEBO division, and Liu Gang, general manager of the international department of MEBO, delivered a speech. Xinhua News Agency correspondents in Lebanon reported on the launching ceremony.

Mr. Nassim, General Manager of Lebanon market of UAE Gulf Pharmaceutical Industry--Julphar, delivered a warm welcome to the Chinese delegation and the guests present at the event. He said Julphar Lebanon will fully cooperate with the “Life Regeneration” initiative.

Mr. Ji Yongjun, deputy director general of Department of American & Oceanian Affairs of CPAFFC, delivered a speech. He said Lebanon is an important node of the ancient Chinese Silk Road. This action landed in Lebanon will further promote the friendly exchanges between the two countries.

Ms. Mervat Musallum mentioned in her speech that MEBO and Julphar are important strategic partners. Relying on the market foundation of Egypt and Lebanon for more than 20 years, the two sides will continue to deepen cooperation and comprehensively promote the "life regeneration" actions in Egypt and Lebanon.



Mr. Liu Gang, general manager of the Department of International Affairs of MEBO International, said in his speech that China and Lebanon have always had a profound historical relationship and partnership. As a foundation and birthplace of regenerative medical technology for burn wounds and ulcers, MEBO International will take social responsibility and actively practice public welfare commitments. Through the "Life Action" project in Egypt and Lebanon, the development of regenerative medical technology in Egypt and Lebanon will continue to be promoted for the benefit of both peoples.

Dr. Jamil Halabi, Dr. Yousef Badar and Dr Mohamad Harb in Lebanon delivered academic speeches and shared the experience of applying skin in situ regeneration technology to treat various chronic refractory wounds (including acne, diabetic foot, broken fingers, gangrene), open abdominal wound and hard-to-heal wounds, etc. Skin in situ regeneration technology has a history of application in Lebanon for more than 20 years. Currently, there are more than 330,000 moist burn ointment products used in Lebanon among more than 4 million people, covering over 20 indications such as burns, wounds, chronic wounds, hemorrhoids, pediatric circumcision, and radiation ulcers. It is one of the most widely used technologies and most widely used by hospital medical staff in Lebanon. 

So far in 2018, the launching ceremony of the United Nations “Every Woman Every Child” “Life Regeneration” action in Egypt and Lebanon has come to a successful end. In the following actions, all the commitments will be fulfilled, training and rescue will be carried out to promote the health for woman and children around the globe.

During the action, a delegation of medical experts from China visited three of the largest teaching base hospitals in Egypt and a public hospital directly under the Ministry of Health (Affiliated Hospital of Said Galal University, Affiliated Hospital of Alzahraa University, Qasr Alini Hospital affiliated to Cairo University and Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital). Among them, the Qasr Alini Hospital affiliated to Cairo University has 5,000 beds and is the third largest hospital in the world. The emergency center is equipped with a burn center and the first child burn center in Egypt. As a public teaching hospital, all expenses are obligated to treat 300 burn patients annually, among which 70% are children. 60% of hospital spending is borne by the government, and 40% through social fund-raising. Hence, it will be one of the key cooperation agencies of the “Life Regeneration” initiative in Egypt. On December 14, the Chinese delegation visited Hamoud Hospital in Said City, Lebanon. It is one of the largest private hospitals in Lebanon. It has completed more than 40 kidney transplants operation every year and applied skin regeneration technology to treat patients for more than 20 years. As a private hospital, it also undertakes patients with government medical insurance and commercial medical insurance, it carries a large number of public welfare treatments for Lebanese poor patients every year, and public welfare program such as blood donation, children's marathon, family first aid knowledge training. During the visit, doctors from both sides discussed the application of regenerative medical technology and the use of MEBO in the treatment of multiple diseases, and exchanged experience on hospital department management, training mechanism and hardware construction.
