The 12th Asia Pacific Burn Congress Held in Singapore, ISRMWR Showed Its Highlight

The 12th Asia Pacific Burn Congress was held at the Academia center, Singapore General Hospital from August 14th to August 17th in Singapore. This confernece was jointly organized by the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Singapore General Hospital and the Association for Burns Injuries Singapore, the conference theme is "Achieve Outstanding Burns Treatment With Multidisciplinary Cooperation". More than 600 medical staff, researchers and entrepreneurs from 22 countries participated in this congress, sharing the latest research progress and innovative technologies on this international platform to further promote the development of burn and wound treatment.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Lam Pin Min, senior minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Transport, delivered an opening speech. Then Dr. Chong Si Jack, chairman of the executive committee of the conference and director of the Plastic and Aesthetic Department of Singapore General  Hospital, gave a speech and welcomed all the participated experts to visit Singapore General hospital. 

At the conference on August 15, two experts delivered brilliant academic lectures on regenerative medicine. Doctor Yap Jiann Wen from Malaysia introduced the basic theory of regenerative medicine to the experts, as well as the application of regenerative medicine technology on the treatment of painless ulcer. He mentioned in particular that the key to treating wounds is to provide a good regeneration environment to promote self-regeneration and repair of wounds. Dr. Uuganbayar Choijil from the National Center for Burn Innovation in Mongolia delivered a presentation on pediatric wound management. In her speech, she shared several cases of pediatric burns, which won unanimous praise from experts present. In the question-asking session, the participated doctors spoke enthusiastically and the speakers had a heated discussion.

On the evening of August 15th, ISRMWR successfully held a special China session on regenerative medicine at the request of Chinese medical experts from the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine. Experts attended the special conference were not only from China but from Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia  and other countries. Foreign experts are amazed by the achievements of regenerative medicine and technology application in China, and expressed hope to learn valuable experience in China in the future.

At noon on August 16th, ISRMWR held another regenerative medicine event at the White Space of Academia Academic Hall. In this special session, Liu Xusheng, director of the Burn Surgery Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, was invited as the chair of the symposium. Four regenerative medicine experts from China, Indonesia, and Malaysia delivered wonderful speeches.

In the APBC 2019 conference, ISRMWR successfully held two academic sessions on the international stage and invited experts to be the speakers at the conference, which not only strengthened the international academic exchange of regenerative medicine but also enhanced the experience and confidence of promoting regenerative medicine in the international academic field. Although the International Society of Regenerative Medicine and Wound Repair is still a young academic organization, it has successively carried out six academic activities, and hundreds of experts in China and overseas have become its member. Relying on the non-denominational, open borders, a fusion of regenerative medicine and academic environment, ISRMWR will strive for the world's regenerative medicine academic exchange. Next year, ISRMWR will officially hold international regenerative medicine symposium in Thailand, hope to see you!
